REQUIRED QUALIFICATION - Candidates with any three year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks, will be considered for admission to the B.Tech. programme through this scheme.

AGE LIMIT - The maximum age prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July of the year of admission.

COMPULSORY  TEST CODE  -- 102

The Lateral Entry Test (LET) (Test 102) for admission to III Semester of the B. Tech course comprises 200 objective type questions designed to test the proficiency in English (20 questions), Mathematics (50 questions), Engineering Mechanics (40 questions), Engineering Graphics (40 questions) and General Engineering (50 questions). The test shall be of 3 hours duration and the maximum marks will be 600.

NB - Admissions will be based on the rank in the admission test, conducted for the purpose. Selected candidates will have to undergo remedial courses as decided by the University. Details regarding age limit, eligibility criteria etc. should be confirmed from the Prospectus.

COMMON NORMS

COMMUNAL RESERVATION
Rules for communal reservation framed by the Government of Kerala and implemented by the University from time to time will be applicable to Lateral Entry programmes also.

Socially and Educationally Backward Communities (SEBC): Only candidates from ‘Socially and Educationally Backward Communities’ (SEBC) eligible for Kerala State communal reservation will be considered for seats earmarked for such communities. Their eligibility for such reservation shall be subject to satisfactory verification of relevant Community as well as Non-creamy layer certificates issued by competent revenue authority not below the rank of the Village Officer concerned.

Kerala Scheduled Cast/Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KSC/KST): Community Certificate issued by the Tahsildar concerned is mandatory for KSC/KST candidates belonging to State of Kerala for claiming admission under respective “Reservation” category.

Candidates belonging to states other than Kerala are not eligible for communal reservation
